The San Luis Valley Water Conservancy District (SLVWCD) is seeking a tenant to rent and operate a 84-acre alfalfa farm on County Road 4 East and one half mile south of Highway 160 in Rio Grande County. Preference will be given to a tenant with the ability and willingness to repair the center pivot sprinklers and water conveyance infrastructure serving the farm. The tenant must carry liability and lease insurance and list the SLVWCD as additional insured. The tenant must also pay the Subdistrict #2 pumping fees ($65/acre-foot) and electrical fees. Applications are available at the SLVWCD Office at 623 Fourth Street during normal business hours or can be downloaded below. The application is due via email on June 8, 2026 by 5:00pm to Heather@slvwcd.org.
